Your experience at our Glen Cove veterinary hospital starts when you and your pet walk through the door. You enter our inviting, calm, and clean waiting room, are greeted by our smiling receptionist, who will check you in and direct you toward our coffee and tea station. A calming fish tank separates our dog and cat waiting areas. If you are visiting us with a dog, our technician will lead you into our dog exam room with a lift table. If your dog does not feel comfortable stepping onto the table, our doctors are more than happy to examine your pet on the floor. If you have a cat, they will escort you into our dedicated cat exam room equipped with a cat tree and toys.

Whether your pet is visiting us for a yearly exam or an illness, the doctor and technician will work compassionately with you to devise and thoroughly explain a treatment plan before anything is performed. Your pet's health and your satisfaction are our priority - always.

Our Commitment to Excellent Follow-up Care

The day after your visit, you will receive a phone call to ensure your pet is not experiencing adverse effects from vaccination or a newly prescribed medication, or that your pet has improved if they were seen for an illness. If there is any indication they are not feeling well, you will receive a phone call until they have recovered.

We offer advanced conventional and alternative or holistic veterinary medicine, as we believe pet owners should have choices when it comes to their pet's health care.

Our AAFP Certification

The entire veterinary team at Green Forest Veterinary Hospital recognizes that our feline companions need just as much attention and care as any other pet, and that's why we've undertaken a variety of steps to achieve certification as a Cat Friendly Hospital by the American Association of Feline Practitioners. This certification necessitates hospital-wide steps that improve pet owner education and awareness, better equip our staff and facility, and equip our medical team with the resources to create an environment that reduces stress for you and your pet, as well as our staff members.

Through these steps, it's our goal as a certified Cat Friendly Hospital to do everything possible to contribute positively and proactively to your cat's overall health and well-being.

Our Story

Founded in 2013 by Dr. Sheila Delijani, Green Forest Veterinary Hospital is located in a new, environmentally conscious, 5,000 square-foot facility in Glen Cove. Because we had the opportunity to build Green Forest Veterinary Hospital from the ground up, we have integrated the best and latest technology into our hospital. This includes digital whole body radiography, a state-of-the-art dental suite, which includes digital dental radiography, a cutting-edge operating room, and oxygen cages. We even have a generator so we will never lose power in the event of a storm.

Your pet's long-term good health begins with regular pet wellness care at our animal hospital in Glen Cove. Our wellness care includes comprehensive nose-to-tail examinations, vaccinations and preventive treatments. Identifying issues before they become serious is both the key to keeping your pet healthy and to keeping the lifetime cost of care as low as possible.

Giving back through volunteer work is one of the main ways we support and say thank you to the community that is such a big part of making our practice successful, as well as help area dogs and cats in need. Dr. Delijani was honored at the 2014 Glen Cove Chamber of Commerce Gala. Green Forest Veterinary Hospital is a member of the Glen Cove Chamber of Commerce. We also work closely with Cove Animal Rescue.
