Green Forest Veterinary Staff Manuel Mondaca, Head Veterinary Technician

Veterinary technician Manuel Mondaca joined the team at Green Forest Veterinary Hospital in April of 2015, but he's been employed in animal-related capacities for over 23 years. At our animal hospital, Manuel's job responsibilities include assisting in examinations, screening patients and clients, providing overall care to patients, setting up appointments, and assisting in surgeries and dental care.

"There is a great synergy among all staff and the veterinarians - it truly feels like a family and we look out for each other," Manuel said. "The care we provide to our patients and clients is top-notch and we strive for excellence and constant compassion."

At home Manuel cares for two domestic shorthaired cats named Moo and JuJuB. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his wife and his two sons. Together the family enjoys hiking and outings into nature, and in his own time Manuel enjoys woodworking and video games.

Green Forest Veterinary Staff Andre Artemyeff, Veterinary Technician

Andre joined the team of Green Forest Veterinary Hospital in March 2017 and has been a crucial member of our staff. As our veterinary technician, some of his responsibilities are checking in appointments, blood draws, placing IVs, and caring for hospitalized patients. He enjoys being able to minimize the stress for patients during their appointments and treatments to make them feel more comfortable. He confidently brings devotion to each patient he sees, and is proud of the ability to make their owners feel comfortable during their visit.

Andre has been working in an anima-related field since 2009, including working as a kennel assistant and a veterinary technician elsewhere before joining GFVH. He also has an Associate Degree in Applied Science.

“We’re a small group at Green Forest,” Andre says. “It helps us function like a family and work together to help improve the health and quality of life of patients.”

At home, Andre has two cats named Francis and Elvis. He spends his free time with his friends and family, listening to music and watching movies, as well as biking, hiking, and swimming.

Green Forest Veterinary Staff Gabrielle Goodyear, Veterinary Assistant

Gabrielle joined Green Forest Veterinary Hospital in 2019 and has been an incredible asset to the team ever since! As a veterinary assistant, Gabrielle’s responsibilities include caring for patients that are boarding with us, assisting our doctors and techs, maintaining cleanliness, setting up surgery, filling medications, and much more. She thoroughly enjoys caring for patients, and providing support for clients during any difficult situations.

Gabrielle shares that there is a “sense of family among the staff,” which is one of the many reasons she enjoys working with the team.

Outside of GFVH, Gabrielle is currently enrolled in school and is studying veterinary medicine.

At home, she has six pets – Minnie, the St. Bernard, and five cats (Red, Gracie, Hugs, Grey, and Chip). In her free time, Gabrielle enjoys horseback riding, shopping, and hanging out with her friends.

Green Forest Veterinary Staff Alison Heyman, Receptionist

Alison joined Green Forest Veterinary Hospital in May 2021. As our receptionist, she is responsible for greeting clients and their pets, answering phones, scheduling appointments, setting up boarding, managing patient records, and more. She brings her outgoing personality, and personal and empathetic touch to our team, to bring comfort to our wonderful clients.

She has a long history of working in an animal-related field, from volunteering at an animal shelter for four years, to working at Petco as a dog bather for two years after that, and then being a dog walker/pet sitter for six years!

“It’s a small practice, so we really get to know our coworkers, clients and patients and build a bond that is like family,” Alison shares. “It’s nice to work in an environment where everyone truly cares about animals and each other.”

Alison is currently studying Biology, as well as helping train the two-year-old Black lab puppy that her parents have. At home, Alison has a Persian cat named Oscar. In her free time, she enjoys snuggling with Oscar, hiking, camping, hula hooping, and spending time with friends and family.
